(17th Sep) – The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (SEEE) Alumni Committee of USM Nibong Tebal has recently organised an online career talk featuring JobRewards, a Penang homegrown online recruitment agency, with approximately 50 participants.
This online career talk was to give participants better ideas on the current job market trend and the hottest jobs in 2020 – including Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence Engineers, Drone Pilots and Cyber Security Engineers.
JobRewards shared that during the current health and financial crises, businesses are evolving at an unprecedented rate that warrants quick change in business strategies and flexibility. JobRewards also explained the new norm of working from home (WFH) and collected some polling result from the audience:
Data show that IT companies’ shares have risen by 26% while conventional companies are suffering. More companies are beginning to use their resources more wisely and since RMCO, there has been an increasing number of companies turning to recruitment agencies to source talented candidates.
“The benefit of using a recruitment agency, such as JobRewards is that we will only recommend qualified and talented candidates to our clients that will shorten the hiring process, and additionally for the candidates, we at JobRewards will reward our candidates with a 5% annual salary bonus when they secure a job through us, ” shared Adam Tan, CEO of JobRewards.
The Q&A session of this online career talk was filled with interesting questions such as “what are the salary differences between the northern, middle and southern regions of Peninsular Malaysia?”
“It really depends on the seniority and the field of work. For example, a freshly graduated engineer may get around 3k in Penang and above 3k in KL while getting below 3k in Johor, it also depends on the companies/industries budget.” explained Zack, Recruitment Manager of JobRewards.
